The delightful Pirates from Playmobil’s Wild Pirate Attack set have their sails at full mast as they take to the sea to conquer nearby ships and bring home the bounty. The Pirates are extremely detailed in their costumes and facial expressions. The large Pirate ship with the skull as its masthead has 2 masts, a bow spit, captain’s cabin, quarterdeck, hold and plenty of accessories. One of the very cool features of this ship is that the cannon fires rubber tipped projectiles. What kid old or young wouldn’t love to do that? At just about two feet this ship will float in the bathtub or with its wheels glide across the floor. Children love toys that they can take in the bath with them.

There is some assembly required by a patient adult and there are many, many small parts. Although Playmobil recommends it for age four it has been our experience that many of the Playmobil sets are better enjoyed by children six and up. For smaller children it is a good idea to put away some of the extra small pieces for a later date. It is also a good idea to have parental involvement in the play with younger children. That said I can highly recommend this large Pirates ship for endless hours of fun.

Pirate’s Soldier Fortress With Lighthouse

Whether it is a mock battle of the Pirates from the sea with the soldiers in the Fortress or a refuge for the Pirates, this is a great addition to the Playmobil Pirate set. The lighthouse lights up to guide the ship home. There is a crane to off load the bounty that was captured. The canon shoots projectiles. My grandsons love this part. Rocks for the soldiers to hide behind and spring out for an attack. A holding prison that is another favorite part of this lighthouse. The trap door is another fun feature.

The fortress stands 14 inches tall. It has a cave entrance just behind the beachhead. To give a realistic touch there are trees and flowers on the beach and amongst the rocks. The pier removes and can be pulled in when under attack. The crane has a winch and a bucket that can be hauled to the top of the tower. There is a secret cupboard in the rocks to store the gold.

All the ingredients have been included for children to make up their own scenarios. It is great to see the children using their imaginations when playing with these well-constructed and durable toys.

Pirates Treasure Chest

This treasure chest by Playmobil is a take-along set. All the pieces and there are many store inside it. All the components to make this a complete part of the Playmobil Pirates are included. There is a treasure chest with gold coins in it. There is a canon that shoots canon balls. Boys just love this! There is a booby trap and a secret hiding place perfect for skull drudgery. A dock can be launched to welcome the ship. The pirates themselves come with interchangeable costumes, hats and beards. Playmobil characters from other sets can be blended into this set. There are guns and swords for the many imaginary battles that will be planned. A cute little monkey, a banana, and two palm trees set the Caribbean theme.

This portable set of Pirate pieces and setting commend praise from adults and children alike. There are many small pieces so it is a good idea to get a small container or plastic bag to keep them all together. It is comforting to know that Playmobil will replace the lost parts (at a charge). However the picking up of all the pieces and storing them away does encourage responsibility in Children.

Superset Pirate Island

What could be more adventuresome than a shipwreck? The pirates are stranded on an Island with only the bow of their ship and anchor remaining. To protect themselves they have a working canon and their pistols. Circling around them is a hungry shark. There are two Pirates that come with the set and what else but a parrot accompanies them. The palm trees blow in the breeze and the Pirates skinny up them to see if help is on the way. They are able to hide away their gold in case of attack by the enemy.

I think what is wonderful about the Playmobil Supersets is that they make an affordable gift. They are complete sets on their own and they add to something that a child might already have. Playmobil spares no effort in the fine detail they put into these sets.

Giant Octopus

This one is so much fun! The large black and red octopus with gigantic tentacles is all set to attack the Pirates and tip over their raft. The octopus secret weapon is its squirter water gun. The Pirates have a battle on their hands to protect their gold and be capsized. The octopus floats around just waiting for the best opportunity to move in for the kill. Best Playmobil Sets

To add to the enjoyment of this Playmobil set and the others there are several add-ons. To add to or as just single small sets there are: Playmobil Pirates with Barrels, Playmobil Pirate Island Compact Set Toy, Playmobil Treasure Transporter with Rowboat, and Playmobil Pirate Dinghy. Some of the Pirate figures that can be picked up as single items are: Playmobil One Eyed Pirate, Playmobil Pirates – Angry Pirate, and Playmobil Pirate Captain. These make great small gifts for special days or as stocking stuffers at Christmas.
